This project consisted of a front and rear extension; the extension at the front completely changed the look of the house by balancing the aesthetics as well as adding a large entrance hall filled with natural light. To the rear we built a substantial extension with bifold doors and skylight (with fibre glass roof) to create an exceptional new kitchen and living area. Once built we moved on to the second fix; plastering, electrics, decorating and wet underfloor heating, 70m2 of flooring and carpentry. We also renovated a downstairs guest toilet and replaced the staircase with a modern bespoke oak one.
The pitched roof in this 5m extension adds a greater sense of space, while the 4 VELUX skylights flood the room with natural light. The clients opted for a bespoke kitchen which was handmade and sprayed on-site to keep overheads down. The roof was sealed using fibreglass rather than tiles or felt; known for durability, strength and 20 year life expectancy.
This client already had an L-shaped extension from the 60's. We extended the original extension and used steel work to enable us to reconfigure the whole of the downstairs to make it a much more open and usable kitchen and living area. After completing the building works, we moved on to second fix, fitting a Howdens kitchen, plastering, electrics, flooring and decorating. We also completed some fencing at the front and rear of the property to create a modern and tidy look.
